Joan-Margaret is a recurring character on Grace and Frankie, portrayed by Millicent Martin.
Character[]
Joan-Margaret was a secretary at Hanson & Bergstein. She retires when Sol Bergstein permanently retires. She is currently working for Frankie Bergstein and Grace Hanson, after being hired by the former.
Biography[]
Joan-Margaret is from England and she left presumably after the curious circumstances surrounding the poisoning death of her ex-husband.
In The Scent, Joan-Margaret tells Frankie that her visa expires in two days, cannot stay in the country legally anymore and will be leaving back to England. She had earlier planned to marry into a green card marriage to continue to stay in the country legally. The plan failed when the potential groom died. Frankie decides to find a groom replacement from Walden Villas. After interviewing a list of potential candidates (shortlisted by Frankie), Bruno catches her eye. They agree to get married at City Hall. Bruno changes his mind and did not proceed with the marriage registration. Frankie then proposes to Joan-Margaret and asks Grace to be their witness. When Grace finds out the true reason for the marriage, as an employee, Joan-Margaret is eligible for a work visa.
